Transparent Light Brown Polyamide Tippet Material.
The abbreviation “ABR” stands for Abrasion Resistance, which is gained through a variety of heat & pressure treatments. These treatments further compact the surface of the tippet material, which adds extra resilience to UV rays and scratches. Another benefit of the treatment is the reduction of water absorption, which increases the holding strength of wet knots.
Capable of holding it’s own against rocks, mussel beds, salt water, a strong sun and most other realistic, gruelling conditions that you can think to put this line through, Stroft ABR absolutely is the long life line when put against it’s GTM counterpart, and any other comparable product. It is slightly harder (or not quite as supple) as the GTM, as result of the aforementioned treatment processes, though this is a fair trade off compared to the resilience benefits that you gain.
